Can I get public funding (grants, loans, etc.) for flight lessons?

I would like to be a pilot but cannot afford the lessons. Is there any way to get funding for lessons other than joining the military?

Like tman says, treat this like you’re going to university. Pick out one or two accredited flight schools and apply. Ask them about help with financial aid; they’ll have somebody there who understands that stuff just like the Financial Aid office at a college.

  1. Yes many flight schools are accredited learning institutions. being accredited opens up the door to financial aid and other us government programs. check with the specific school too find out what programs they are a party too.
